Why is art regarded so highly by so many people? Why is recreating what can already be seen in the real world such a great feat? And if an artist is instead drawing what cannot already be seen in the real world-- what makes their imagination so special? Why have we grown to appreciate immaturity? It doesn't exist, there's no way it can, so why is it praised so highly when drawn? What makes it so special?
When someone with a non-realistic style of drawing comes along, like a cartoonist, why should their work be praised when it's nothing like what we see in reality? What makes their work so special? If they draw warped proportions and use unreal colours, why should they be considered talented, when it's just a frivolous, childish practice?
Is skewing reality something that should be admired? Why?
And if it
is meant to be admired, if the ability to create unreal people and places, in styles that don't come close to the way people look in real life
and I repeat the above question as well, "What makes the ability to draw realistically so special? It already exists"...
... Then what's so bad about using "it's my style" to justify any discrepancies?
